CANADIAN NORTHERN CORRIDOR

• The idea suggests the establishment of multi-modal (road, rail, utilities and communications) right-of-way through Canada’s north and near-north (with an accompanying regulatory and governance structure to manage this right-of-way).
• One of the main goals is driving growth and diversification by opening up access to rapidly expanding international markets and inter-regional trade within Canada.
• The concept would result in a new economic zone parallel to the existing strip along US border where most Canadians live and work.

• L'idée suggère l'établissement d'un droit de passage multimodal (route, train, services collectifs et communications) au nord et au nord proche du Canada (avec une structure d'accompagnement réglementaire et de gouvernance pour gérer ce droit de passage).
• L'un des objectifs principaux est de stimuler la croissance et la diversification en ouvrant l'accès aux marchés internationaux en expansion rapide et au commerce inter-régional au Canada.
• Le concept résulterait en une nouvelle zone économique parallèle à la ceinture existante le long de la frontière avec les États-Unis où vivent et travaillent la plupart des Canadiens.
